VILLA IACHI

private residence

Marche, ITALY - 2017

The villa on four levels appears to always have been like this, but instead it is all a transformation, the departure point the preexisting outline, somewhat complicated, seeming to want to escape the needs of the place and its functions, that of a single house. For this the existing profile has been enclosed like being in a nautilus shell, made up of solid volumes, of opening windows and fixed glazing,

of terraces and absolute empty voids, like an 18th century dress, that of a form that doesn’t neccessarily respect the content. A round house that closes internally open spaces, connected by a staircase that wants to be a decorative element rather than an architectural one, that interacts on all the different levels instead of being a confining factor becomes the intergrating element of the interior.
